Interactions with the Natural Environment of the Amazon River:

Down below is a paragraph that sums up the transformation of the tribe from a sustained culture to a
more urbanised one.

The Jaguar tribe are indigenous people that live in isolated areas of the Amazon River in Peru and Brazil. Interestingly enough, the Matses Tribe, tradition people, live by what their religion is. Whilst living in the forest, The Matses Tribe had to go through a number of stages to be able to sustain their natural habitat. In doing so their farming procedures meant that they had to cut down rainforest trees, as so the nutrients within them get washed away by heavy rainfall leaving it infertile to the tribe. Having little contact with the outer world, they started to rely on goods such as clothing which came from there. Due to this, they had been lured into the only economic opportunities available. Not only does it lure them it also affects them as a culture as they go through discrimination and outside influences leaving them with little interest in their traditional lifestyle.

  1. This is a lovely piece of writing with interesting information on the Jaguar Tribe. I like the use of different sentence types. Next time it would be good to read it out loud so that you can pick up on a few sentence that do not read well. Overall well done
