Passion Project Reflection:

Since week 5 we have been doing a Passion Project. In my class, we looked at doing an Augmented Reality Sandbox. Prior to that, we started constructing our own from scratch in groups. It took two weeks to plan and design.

Down below is a picture showing our group plan:

Since it took approximately two weeks to do the planning and design concept of this, we finally started construction on the actual sandbox. Whilst construction was taking place, the electronics team were taught on how to connect the 3D connector and the projector so that it projects and give colour on what we want to sculpt.

I don't know what week it is but we have finally completed the sandbox. Well without legs. During this, we did have mistakes. We had to get sand from the beach because we couldn't have sponsorship, our legs were too wobbly and many other things. One thing is that we can still complete it next year. Hopefully. With the completion of one sandbox, we got everything running and connected but the graphics aren't as advanced as the one you see on youtube.

Interactions with the Natural Environment of the Amazon River:

Down below is a paragraph that sums up the transformation of the tribe from a sustained culture to a
more urbanised one.

The Jaguar tribe are indigenous people that live in isolated areas of the Amazon River in Peru and Brazil. Interestingly enough, the Matses Tribe, tradition people, live by what their religion is. Whilst living in the forest, The Matses Tribe had to go through a number of stages to be able to sustain their natural habitat. In doing so their farming procedures meant that they had to cut down rainforest trees, as so the nutrients within them get washed away by heavy rainfall leaving it infertile to the tribe. Having little contact with the outer world, they started to rely on goods such as clothing which came from there. Due to this, they had been lured into the only economic opportunities available. Not only does it lure them it also affects them as a culture as they go through discrimination and outside influences leaving them with little interest in their traditional lifestyle.
